Built for Taiwanese 16-tile

The right rules.
For your table.

Mahjong Tally follows LRC Taiwanese scoring rules (September 2026). Built around your ruleset, from the first draw to the final breakdown.

A standard winning hand has five sets and one pair. Gongs add physical tiles while counting as one set; recognized special hands have their own shapes.

  • Points that add up. Scores use additive points. No multipliers, and no 20-point minimum to win.
  • Flowers scored correctly. Seven/eight Flowers are standalone 20/40-point wins. Gardens are separate events.
  • The whole round covered. Dealer streaks, draw pools, chasing tiles and penalties follow the current edition.

Before the first round

A few good questions.

And answers you won’t need an AI to decipher.

How are points calculated?

Points are added directly. There are no multipliers and no 20-point minimum for a valid Mahjong. Higher tiers and combined patterns replace their included lower rows to avoid double counting.

How are Gardens and Flower wins scored?

Mixed Garden and Pure Garden are immediate 5- and 10-point events, separate from the winning hand. Seven Flowers and eight Flowers are standalone Self-Draw wins worth 20 and 40 points respectively, with no base or other bonuses. Replace the required Flower tiles before declaring.

What happens when the rules are updated?

New calculations use the LRC September 2026 edition. Previously saved results remain historical records; they are not automatically recalculated.

Is this only for Taiwanese mahjong?

Yes. Mahjong Tally is built for Taiwanese 16-tile mahjong, following LRC September 2026 scoring rules. It is not a generic scorer for every mahjong variant.

How does AI tile scanning work, and is it accurate?

Take a clear camera or gallery photo. AI identifies the tiles and creates a rack you can review and edit. Scanning is currently in beta, so recognition can be wrong. Always confirm the rack; manual entry is an alternative in supported tools. Check Pricing for current access.

Can I use this to teach classes or run a mahjong lounge?

Teachers, lounges and community groups are welcome to get in touch. Tell us how you play or teach, how many tables you run and what you need. We can discuss fit and partnership ideas without promising tools that are not yet available.

Does AI Game Editor change scores without asking?

No. It proposes a supported change for the table host to review and confirm. Mahjong AI Helper explains and advises; AI Game Editor handles proposed table edits.
